  • Bob Mahan

    Senior Minister

    Bob has been ministering in the Christian Churches for the past fifty-two years, with thirty-nine of those years being spent in the Metro Atlanta area - including eight years as Senior Minister at Buffington Road Christian Church in College Park, GA and thirteen years as Senior Minister of the Fayetteville Christian Church in Fayetteville, GA. 


    Bob completed his15th year of ministry with Hamilton Mill Christian Church in January, 2016.  He is a graduate of the Cincinnati Christian University and is married with two grown children and eight grandchildren.  He and his wife, Sandra, currently live in Buford, GA.  He has served on various boards and committees in the Christian Church brotherhood including: President of the Georgia Christian Missionary Rally, President of the Georgia Christian Minister's Association, President of the Peach State Christian Convention and member of the Continuation Committee of the North American Christian Convention, among others.



  • Nathan Holmes

    Nathan was born and raised right here in Gwinnett County. He met his wife Lindsey in their home church's youth group in high school and later married in 2003. They have led ministries in Cumming, GA and eventually moved to Dawsonville, GA. Most recently they have moved back to Gwinnett County and joined the staff of HMCC. Nathan and Lindsey began to grow their family starting in 2006 and have been blessed with three amazing children: Luke, Kileigh, and Abby.


    Nathan studied at Atlanta Christian College in East Point, GA for a B.A. in Biblical Studies with a minor in Youth Ministry. He has been in ministry since 1999 and been the Family and Teaching Associate here at HMCC since 2015. His passion for ministry has led him all across the United States as well as abroad to England and Mexico. Nathan loves spending time with his family, hiking the mountain trails of North Georgia (pretty much anything outdoors), and sitting around drinking coffee talking about Theology, the church, life in general and if Adam and Eve really had belly buttons. Nathan's deepest desire is to see God move in the hearts and lives of the people here in Buford through the ministries here at Hamilton Mill Christian Church.



  • Russ Cooper

    Russ was born in Barnesville, GA. and graduated from Gordon College.  He moved to Nashville, TN  as a touring and session musician. Upon returning to Georgia, Russ has served as Worship Leader/ Minister for churches in Metro Atlanta.

    Russ joined  the staff of Hamilton Mill Christian Church in 2009 as Minister of Music and Creative Arts, leading us in song and praise during each worship service.

    Russ' interests include all things musical and baseball, spending quality time with his wife of 20 years and his three children.

    Charlene is the voice you'll hear when you call HMCC.  She handles the day to day operations of the church office along with the bookkeeping and accounting processes for the church.

  • Steve Bryant

    Steve was born in Browning, Illinois. When he was in his early teens, his family moved to Storm Lake, Iowa. He graduated from high school in 1971 and then attended the Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York. While at the academy, Steve sailed the Mediterranean, South America, Northern Europe, the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River. After the academy, he worked in Marshalltown, Iowa where he met his wife, El Jean. In 1983 the family moved to Norcross, Georgia. Steve became a member of Lilburn Christian Church in 1991. He served as a deacon for seven years and taught adult Bible school during that time. Steve and El Jean are charter members of Hamilton Mill Christian Church. He was selected to serve as an elder at HMCC in 2007. Steve is an Applications Engineer for Control Southern. Steve enjoys traveling with his family and playing golf. He and El Jean have three daughters and four grandchildren.



  • Danny Hanshew

    Danny and his wife Sue are from West Virginia and moved to the Atlanta area in 1970. They began attending Lilburn Christian Church (LCC) in 1974 when the congregation was still meeting in Berkmar High School. Shortly thereafter they moved to Dallas Texas for a year and then returned to LCC before moving to Oklahoma in the fall of 1977. They moved back to Lilburn in the fall of 1979 and Danny was baptized at LCC in February 1980. At LCC Danny served as a deacon for four years and then as an elder for eight years before transferring to
    HMCC.


    Danny is a Senior Project Manager for Mitchell Mechanical,LLC. His outside interests include outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting, and spending time with grandchildren.  Danny and Sue have three children, two daughters and a son



  • Ray Zwemke

    Ray was born and grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa where he attended Central Christian Church. He and Judy were married in 1965 and they have three children, Jamie, Rod and Ryan. After graduating from the University of Iowa with a degree in Business Administration he served two years in the US Army. Ray worked for St Paul Insurance Company in Commercial Underwriting for 30 years in various locations until he retired in December 2002. He and his family moved to the Atlanta area in 1986 and shortly thereafter they joined the Lilburn Christian Church (LCC). At LCC, Ray served as a deacon for about 10 years where he was the ministry leader for the Fellowship  team.    Ray also coordinated the insurance needs for the church in 2001.  Ray was selected to serve as an elder at LCC and he continued serving as an elder at Hamilton Mill Christian Church when HMCC was established.  He has facilitated a Small Group Bible Study in his home for several years. Ray enjoys many different sports, coaching youth basketball and mentoring middle school students.  He also enjoys helping his children with home improvement projects, but his favorite time is spent enjoying his eight grandchildren.
