Resolving Conflict is the greatest need for couples and overall relationships to maintain healthy, effective
and lasting friendships, partnerships, families and coworking. There are five (5) basic benefits when we
are about resolving conflicts in our relationships:
1) STABILITY
Successfully resolving conflicts prevents small issues from escalating into major problems. We’ve all
used the cleshay, “the final straw on the camel’s back.” Leaving issues unresolved adds weight and stress
to the relationship.
2) COMMUNICATION
Practicing good conflict resolution skills encourages open and honest communication. It allows one
another to express their needs, concerns, thoughts effectively. Good and open communication is necessary
to have friendships and family. Unresolved conflict stifles communication and doesn’t allow the couple or
friendship to connect or go to the deeper level of joy and purpose.
3) GROWTH
When we work together to resolve conflicts, we gain a deeper understanding of each other’s perspectives
and therefore learn and grow from one another. We gain insights from the experiences of others that help
us to avoid or embrace in our life.
4) BONDING
Overcoming challenges through good conflict resolution strengthens the partnership, marriage, friendship
and coworking relationship. It builds a more solid bond that endures challenge and opposition.
5) JOY
Resolving Conflict goes a long way in reducing stress and anxiety within relationships and allows for real
joy and satisfaction of partnership.
